about me.
Luna Yang is a Hmong American woman who grew up in the Twin Cities of Minnesota watching and reading Japanese anime, and manga, online webcomics, and playing many digital games. This sparked her love for art and today, many of her inspirations stem from Studio Ghibli films, movies by Makoto Shinkai such as Your Name and Suzume, the Final Fantasy game series and more recently, Valorant from Riot Games. She is in love with action, fantasy, and drama genres, and has started exploring with cyberpunk aesthetics within her personal works. She has experimented with character designs and more recently, environmental designs, illustrations, and comics with photoshop and procreate.
Luna is currently studying at the University of Wisconsin Stout for her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Animation and Digital media. In the spring of 2023, she studied abroad at Chung-Ang University in Seoul, South Korea where she gained inspiration from the city life and culture to incorporate into her artworks. Returning to UW-Stout in the fall of 2023, Luna worked as a Teacher Assistant for Life Drawing I where she had taught and supported a class with a professor.
Luna hopes to one day open her own independent studio and produce 2D animated films. Right now, she is currently interested in finding an internship or an entry position within the animation industry in concept art or animation.
